Understanding and Using Checklists for Successful Program Audits
Have you read the DO-254 standard? Is it clear what you must actually do to comply with DO-254, what data must be reviewed, and what you will be asked during DO-254 audits? Probably not. Are you concerned about this? Probably so. That's why you need checklists.
Checklists are an essential tool to mitigate risks in a DO-254 program. They do this by guiding the teams through all the critical questions that may be asked during certification auditing. This helps ensure the project teams are prepared for their own internal audits and therefore ready for the external auditors.
This "course", which is really a downloadable set of educational checklists, provides an overview and visual description of how and when checklists are used to drive the reviews that occur throughout the DO-254 process. The downloadable checklists set includes 20 spreadsheets covering nearly 1000 questions that must be asked and answered to demonstrate compliance in a DO-254 program. The checklists are each explained so applicants can understand how and when to use them, and they are easily tailored by development assurance level (DAL).
